The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Saturday inaugurated a newly built Corpers lodge for Corp members serving in Community Secondary School Obeaku, Ndoku Community of Oyigbo Local Government Area.

Also inaugurated was an ultra modern building for Community Secondary School Obeaku, which comprises Junior and senior secondary blocks, security quarters, well equipped Science laboratory, computer center and library.

Speaking at the inauguration which was graced by the former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, other notable personalities in the State, including the Nysc State Coordinator Mr. Chinwendu Chukwu, Wike stated that one of the way of empowering the society is through investing in the educational sector.

He said the young generation who are the future of tomorrow needs quality education to improve their latent potentials and contribute meaningfully towards nation building. He also assured the people of Ndoku Community and Oyigbo LGA that his administration will never cease to cite more projects in the Locality.

Well furnished sitting room for Corpers

On the Corpers lodge which consists of 16 rooms, Wike said; he ensured it is furnished tastefully in appreciation to the commendable roles Corp members play as critical shareholders and strategic drivers of his administration vision and mission towards education.

He further noted that Corp members have raised the bar and quality of education across the state which he is grateful for.

The NYSC State Coordinator Mr. Chinwendu Chukwu expressed gratitude to God for making the project a reality.

He thanked the Governor Wike for the giant strides he has recorded in the NYSC by practically rewriting the narratives of the Scheme’s operations since his assumption of office, especially in the total transformation of structures in the orientation camp.

Mr. Chukwu also used the occasion to call on corps members who will make use of the lodge to ensure that the facilities provided in it are adequately maintained.
