2023: Fayose Reveals PDP G-5’s Demand From Atiku

A former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday said that the demands of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike are not personal.

Fayose stated this while speaking on the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during an interview on Channels TV.

According to Fayose, one of the demands of Governor Wike and his allies identified as the G-5 is that the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar would not serve for more than a tenure if elected president.

He disclosed that he supported Wike during the presidential primary of the PDP, adding that he told the 16 delegates from the state to vote for Wike.

Fayose said, “Part of the demands of Wike and co is not personal. This is not for the public domain, but I have to bring it. And any person who says I am telling lies can come and deny it. I told the 16 delegates from Ekiti to vote for Wike.

“If they give me one vote because of my name and Wike loses by one vote I will have betrayed trust. When I went to Wike and some of the governors that are supporting him, part of their demands is that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is 76 and that Atiku should do only one term. We can tell our people only one tenure, we can still tolerate it. So that it will not be eight years of the north and another eight years for the north.”

The former Governor noted that the north can not rule the country for another eight years after two terms of President Muhammadu Buhari in office.

Fayose added that they can still tolerate the former Vice President ruling Nigeria for a tenure.
