A NorthernerSees Restructuring Differently From The Way An Igbo Or Yoruba Man Is Seeing It – Aliu

The coordinator of the Coalition of Northern Groups, Jaliu Aliu Charanchi has addressed the ongoing calls for restructuring, noting the diverse interpretations among various ethnic groups, including Hausa, Fulanis, Igbos, and Yorubas.

To bring clarity to the discourse, he proposed an initial step: which is the precise definition of restructuring, encompassing a detailed understanding of what aspects are intended for modification.

He emphasized the importance of clearly defining the objectives and methodologies for restructuring.

He suggested that with a comprehensive definition and understanding in place, a subsequent phase would involve debating the desirability of restructuring based on the established parameters and goals.

He said in an interview with The Sun, ”People are agitating for restructuring, which has different meanings. A Northerner sees restructuring differently from the way an Igbo or Yoruba man is seeing it. What we have to do first is to define restructuring, what do you want to restructure? If we define restructuring and what we want to restructure and how we go about it; if we have all these things then we go to debate whether we want restructuring or not.”
