Grammy-winning Nigerian music star, Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has declared that the version of him the public once knew is gone. The singer made this revelation in a recent social media post, addressing those who are finding it hard to embrace his current identity.
Posting via the official Instagram page for his soon-to-be-released album ‘No Sign Of Weakness’, Burna Boy pointed fingers at Nigerians, accusing them of being responsible for the demise of his former self.
Opening up about the inner conflict he battles, the artist admitted that the old and new versions of himself remain at odds.
He wrote, “The ‘African Giant’ Burna Boy died. His own people killed him. Then ‘Big 7’ was born to protect what was left of ‘Burna Boy.’
“Burna Boy and Big 7 fight each other a lot because while Big 7 is only protecting the final and only existing piece of Burna Boy’s broken heart, the ‘African Giant’ still haunts Burna Boy.”
