The Academic Staff Union Of Universities ASUU have revealed that they will do anything possible to ensure the release of their withheld eight months salaries.
Recall that ASUU suspended their eight month old strike not long ago. However the federal government has refused to pay the striking lecturers over the period of strike based on the no work no pay policy.
The university lecturers are already considering legal action against the government.
However, the ASUU national President Professor Emmanuel Osodoke has revealed that legal actions are slow in this country and hence the reason why they are reserving that option for now.
In a telephone interview with Nigerian Tribune, The ASUU president stated that they will continue to explore other means of compelling the government.
He said: “When we get there, we will let you know, but legal issue in Nigeria is time-wasting. The next 10 years, you will be there, 20 years. So, when we get there we will let you know.”
