Bode George Urges Atiku, Wike to Exit PDP Immediately

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has delivered a stern message to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, calling for their immediate departure from the party.

George, a veteran figure in the PDP, made his position known while addressing the ongoing controversies within the party. He accused both Atiku and Wike of engaging in anti-party activities despite still claiming loyalty to the PDP.

As reported by Vanguard, George voiced his frustration over their continued association with members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), questioning why the pair still maintained positions within the PDP structure while allegedly working against it.

Expressing his displeasure, George stated, “What exactly is going on? Anybody who is tired of PDP should leave and join another party. Enough of this embarrassment. As a founding elder of this party, I will not watch while some people openly disrespect the party. It is impossible.”

He specifically criticised Atiku for his recent visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as political fraternisation with an APC stalwart and labelling it an anti-party offence.

The PDP chieftain also came down hard on Wike, accusing him of working for the APC in the FCT while still parading himself as a PDP member. George asked, “Wike has been given a direct order to win FCT for APC and he still claims to be a member of PDP. Are people now shameless politically that they cannot be principled? Where is the leadership of our party? Why are they tolerating Atiku and Wike? Why are they allowing the duo to continue to embarrass our party publicly?”

Additionally, George expressed disappointment with some PDP governors for openly declaring their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027.

He further questioned the party’s leadership and discipline, lamenting, “Now, some governors are joining them to endorse Tinubu’s reelection in 2027. I ask again: what exactly is going on in our party? Has discipline gone to the dogs? Has everything broken down completely? Has sanity taken flight in the way we run the party now?”
