Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has issued a stern warning to those who may misinterpret his commitment to implementing the presidential peace pact as a sign of weakness. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor clarified his stance, asserting that his decision to abide by the agreement brokered by President Bola Tinubu is rooted in respect and political maturity rather than capitulation.

Fubara emphasized that his administration’s adherence to the peace initiative is not a display of weakness but a pragmatic approach to resolving political tensions in the state. He highlighted the importance of maintaining clarity on this matter and stressed that his actions are in line with the spirit of the agreement facilitated by President Tinubu. Addressing a gathering of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Fubara reiterated his administration’s commitment to serving the people of Rivers State with integrity and diligence. According to The PUNCH, Fubara said, “When you are doing what is right, I will stand by you. Nobody, whether full or half is going to intimidate you. Brace up, I say brace up because the next step will be fire for fire in Rivers State. Everything will be implemented”.Furthermore, Fubara emphasized the significance of leaving behind a positive legacy characterised by genuine impact and improved livelihoods for the people of Rivers State.
