Burna Boy Gifts Portable ₦20 Million After Victory Over Speed Darlington in Celebrity Boxing Match

Award-winning Nigerian musician, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has reportedly gifted street-hop artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, the sum of ₦20 million after Portable emerged victorious in a celebrity boxing showdown against Speed Darlington.

The news came to light after Portable shared the update with fans via Instagram on Saturday, expressing gratitude for Burna Boy’s generous reward.

“₦20 million from Burna Boy. If you wanna be like Odogwu, can you do like Odogwu? God bless your family,” he posted.

According to Naturenex, the singer, often surrounded by controversy, has been celebrating ever since he triumphed over his opponent, Darlington Okoye, better known as Speed Darlington.

The bout, tagged ‘Chaos in the Ring,’ was staged at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos and sanctioned by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control.

In the wake of his defeat, Speed Darlington alleged that his opponent may have employed supernatural powers, stating that Portable possibly used “juju” to alter the result.

Reacting to his win, Portable excitedly posted on Instagram: “Champion forever. I believe in those who believe in me. Na God dey run am. Orilomo.”

He later followed up with another message on his Instagram story that read: “Joy full my body, money don land.”

This isn’t the first time Burna Boy and Speed Darlington have clashed publicly. In 2024, Speed Darlington had accused Burna Boy of leveraging dubious connections with American rapper Diddy to secure his Grammy win.

That controversy escalated into legal trouble, resulting in Speed Darlington’s arrest on charges of defamation and cyberstalking involving Burna Boy.
