Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), currently serving as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has officially appointed new administrators to oversee the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the state.
This development comes despite a recent ruling by the Federal High Court, which barred him from proceeding with such appointments. The restraining order was issued by Justice Adam Muhammed in response to a legal challenge—case number FHC/PH/CS/46/2025—filed by the PILEX Centre for Civic Education Initiative, led by Courage Msirimovu.
The appointments were announced on Wednesday through a Special Government Statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibibia Worika.
