Delta Police Arrest Man For Murder, Burning Of S3x Worker

OPERATIVES of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspect, Emmanuel Ujedibe, accused of killing a commercial s3x worker and setting her room on fire.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed, who addressed reporters in Asaba, the state capital yesterday, said the victim’s phone was recovered from a receiver who bought the phone from the suspect.

He said the suspect had also masterminded his own kidnap and extorted N4 million from his father.

Mohammed said the suspect claimed he killed the victim because she stole his iphone 11 pro max.

The police boss said: “A lady named Peace, surname unknown, suspected to be a commercial s3x worker, was killed by one Emmanuel and the room set ablaze by the suspect.

“Operatives of ‘A’ Division Asaba and Anti-kidnapping section embarked on an intelligence-led investigation, during which the victim’s phone that was stolen by the suspect was recovered from the receiver who bought it from the murder suspect.

“The suspect also masterminded his own kidnap and has so far extorted the sum of four million naira (N4,000,000) from his father.

“The suspect, Emmanuel Ujedibe ‘m’ age 22yrs, has been arrested.”

In a related development, a murder suspect, who killed his wife after a disagreement and left her decomposing body in their apartment in Ozoro, Isoko North LGA was also arrested, Delta Police Commissioner, Ari Mohammed, said yesterday.

Mohammed, who spoke to reporters in Asaba the state capital, said police operatives broke into an apartment and found a lady dead with her husband nowhere to be found.

He said the victim’s relative who had not seen her for a long time decided to visit her but discovered that the door to the apartment was locked and a strong odour oozed from the apartment.

He identified the victim as Oghogho Olori, 42 years old.

He said his men launched a manhunt for the husband but the suspect turned himself in and confessed to the crime.

He said: “The DPO Ozoro received a distress call that on same date, the house of one Oghogho Olori ‘f’ aged 42 years was visited by her younger brother who had not heard from her for some time, but he discovered that the door to the apartment was locked from outside while an offensive odour was emitting from the apartment.
