An early morning fire outbreak at Yankatako Market in Rijiyar Lemo, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State has resulted in the destruction of 21 shops.
The incident, which occurred around 02:00 am on Monday, prompted a swift response from the Kano State Fire Service following a distress call from the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC).
Saminu Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the fire service, confirmed that the affected shops were located in the furniture section of the market.
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, and efforts were made to prevent the fire from spreading to other shops. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation to determine its origin.
