Nigeria mourns the passing of Senator Abubakar Danso Sodangi, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State. The former senator, who represented Nasarawa West for 12 years in the Nigerian Senate, breathed his last at the age of 70 on Sunday.
Senator Sodangi played a significant role in Nigerian politics and was a key figure within the APC. In 2023, he served as the Chairman of the Campaign Council for the re-election of Governor Abdullahi Sule, showcasing his continued dedication to public service.
Having been elected Senator in the Nasarawa West Constituency in May 1999, Senator Sodangi continued to win the trust of the people, securing re-election in 2003 and 2007. His contributions extended beyond politics, as he was a member of various professional bodies, including the Commonwealth Bar Association, the African Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Defense Institute.
