Ganduje Clears the Air on Alleged Plan to Dump APC for PDP

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has addressed recent claims suggesting he may be planning to leave the ruling party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This reaction followed comments made by former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, who alleged that the APC was on the brink of collapse, and that several ex-PDP members currently in the party, including Ganduje, could soon find their way back to their former platform.

Dismissing the remarks, Ganduje stated there was no truth to the claim. He firmly maintained that rather than him returning to the PDP, it might be Lamido who would eventually join the APC.

In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Ganduje reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling party, describing it as solid, resilient, and continually gaining support nationwide.

He noted that the APC had remained attractive to politicians from different regions, especially as the 2027 elections draw closer. Ganduje also predicted that with the internal challenges plaguing the opposition, the PDP might not survive beyond 2025.

According to him, the leadership of President Bola Tinubu has further strengthened the APC, fostering unity and stability within its ranks.

Speaking about his role, Ganduje expressed pride in leading what he termed “the biggest political party in Nigeria and the region.” He pledged to continue steering the APC towards stability and ensuring it stays committed to its promises.

Ganduje also advised Lamido to channel his energy into addressing the issues troubling the PDP rather than spreading unfounded claims about the APC.
