According to Punch, a suspected serial rαpist, Olarewaju Idris, who allegedly preyed on female students at Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijagun, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.

According to Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson, the 31-year-old suspect was apprehended at a hotel in Erinwo, Ijebu-Ode, on Saturday.

As reported by Punch Metro, the suspect is accused of raping an 18-year-old female student from the Library and Information Department.

The police stated that the suspect allegedly kidnapped the young woman at knifepoint, took her to a remote location, and violently assaulted her after initially approaching her at a nightclub.

“Around 6:00 am, an 18-year-old survivor came to the police station, clearly distressed. She recounted how, around 1:00 am, the suspect approached her at the club and, under the thrεat of a knife, forcibly dragged her away to a nearby Bush, where he rαped her before fleeing into the darkness.” – Omolola Odutola

In a surprising turn of events, another TASUED student, also in her third year, arrived at the station shortly after, recounting a similar traumatic experience.

“She reported that between 2:00 AM and 3:30 AM, the same suspect enticed her onto a motorcycle and took her to Magun Hotel in Ijebu Ode, where he rαped her, causing significant injuries.” – Omolola Odutola

The police confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody, while the victims were quickly transported to Ijebu Ode State Hospital for immediate medical care.

As the investigation progresses, Odutola reassures the public of the police’s dedication to delivering justice.
