Arise News anchors have reacted to the statement made by presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his presidential Town Hall meeting of the South South region in Calabar, yesterday.

During the event, Bola Ahmed Tinubu said that he is the only one running for the presidential election aimed at moving the country forward, saying that no other presidential candidate is running like him. Tinubu also claimed that other presidential candidates have no facts, experience, track records, and degree of honesty.

Reacting to Tinubu’s statement at the Town Hall meeting, Ayo Mairo-Ese who spoke during “What’s Trending” of the “Morning Show” program of the Arise News said that when Tinubu said “they have no past”, she hopes that he was not referring to Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party.

According to Ayo Mairo-Ese, both Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar have political experiences. She noted that Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar have served as Governor and Vice President respectively.

She added that Tinubu’s statement goes back to the saying that, “when you point one finger at people, the other fingers are pointing back at you”.

According to Ayo Mairo-Ese, how can Bola Ahmed Tinubu say that the other presidential candidates have no past while there is still a contention as to his correct state of origin, name and the school he attended. She further recalled that the picture used for his biography was a picture of a former Governor of Cross River State.

She noted that Tinubu ought to have discussed his plans for Nigerians and end at that, rather than stirring up the issues which she said by so doing, he brings judgement upon himself.
