I Respect Atiku Abubakar, But Selling Water Bottled Water Doesn’t Make One An Expert In Economics – K. Shettima

Published by admin on

Senator Kashim Shettima, the vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a swipe at the presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party and the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. While addressing the audience at a town hall meeting and dialogue held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, he spoke about the need to elect a candidate with a proven track record in leadership.

He went on to thank Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding him worthy enough to be his running mate. He stated that the former governor of Lagos is one of the most hated people in Nigeria because of his track record. He reminded those inquisitive about Tinubu’s age, that they are not preparing for the Olympics, but an institution that relies on the ability to share ideas and track records.

In his words;

“Leadership goes beyond carrying a bag of cement. Ladies and gentlemen, we are not preparing for the Olympics, we are building an institution that relies on the ability to share ideas and track records… I respect Atiku Abubakar, but leadership goes beyond rantings, someone who can’t unite his party, I wonder how he is going to unite this nation. The world is talking about artificial intelligence, big data and nanotechnology… The ability to sell bottled water doesn’t make one an expert in economics”
