While Folorunso is the founder and Vice Chairman of FAMFA Oil Limited, and has made a name for herself as a successful businesswoman, her husband, Modupe, is the Chairman of FAMFA oil.
Unknown to many Nigerians, Modupe Alakija is also well-to-do. A successful lawyer and businessman, he’s a billionaire just like his wife, and he hails from a reputable family in Lagos State.
Born on May 5, 1949 in Nigeria, he moved to the United Kingdom (UK) after his elementary education for advanced and higher studies.
Modupe Alakija acquired his Law degree from Cambridge University, and he was called to the British Bar in 1970. Asides being the chairman of FAMFA Oil Limited, the company that owns a stake in the lucrative Agbami oil field, he is also the executive Vice Chairman of Dayspring Property Development Company Limited, a real estate company.
As the Alakijas marriage hits the rocks, not a few pundits have pondered what it takes to cultivate and sustain a perfect love and stable marriage. Certainly, neither money nor a host of other financial securities are ever enough.
