In a harrowing incident, the troops of the 181 Amphibious Battalion, stationed in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, found themselves surrounded by community youths during a peace mission to the OKUOMA community. The date was Thursday, March 14, 2024.

The unfortunate events unfolded as the troops responded to a distress call stemming from a communal crisis between the Okuama and Okoloba communities in Delta State. The situation escalated rapidly, resulting in a deadly confrontation.l

The reinforcement team, led by the Commanding officer, also faced a brutal attack. Tragically, the Commanding officer, two Majors, one Captain, and twelve Soldiers lost their lives in the line of duty.
