NNPCL Gives Reason For Fuel Scarcity In Nigeria, Reveals Solution
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has said that the petrol scarcity witnessed in the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos and parts of the country is a result of distribution challenges.
This is as the firm said that it is working round the clock to end the challenge before midweek.
It disclosed this in a statement on Sunday by its spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye.
This comes as fuel scarcity worsens across the country.
NNPCL, which is the sole importer of petrol in Nigeria, however, assured that it was working round the clock with stakeholders in the oil and gas sector to return to normalcy.
“The NNPC Ltd regrets the tightness in fuel supply witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT (Federal Capital Territory), which is a result of distribution challenges.
“The company further urges motorists to shun panic buying as it is working round the clock with relevant stakeholders to restore normalcy,” it said.
Naturenex recalls that the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory had warned filling stations against the illegal sale of petrol amid heightened fuel scarcity in the country.
