Paris 2024: Nigeria cyclist borrows bicycle from German colleague at Olympics
Nigerian road and track cyclist, Ese Ukpeseraye, had to borrow a bicycle to compete at the 2024 cycling race in Paris.
Initially, Ukpeseraye, who is representing Team Nigeria could not compete as there was no bicycle made available for her in the keirin and sprint events due to the short notice of her participation
However, in the spirit of sportsmanship, the situation was remedied after the German team offered a bicycle.
In a post on her X page, Ukpeseraye appreciated her colleagues from Germany.
She said, #Paris2024@Paris2024 Due to the short notice of me competing at the keirin & Sprint, #teamNigeria I had no bicycle to race with on the tracks.
βIn d spirit of sportsmanship, the German team @bunddeutscherradfahr came to my rescue by offering me a bicycle. Thank you.β
