According to a news that was published by the Punch Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that the Coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential Campaign Council, in the Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State and the former supervisory councillor in the area, Mr Nnamdi Nwogu, has spoken about the alleged attack on him and some members of the party, by some thugs for displaying campaign posters of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the Eberi area of Omuma, last Sunday.

During interview with Punch correspondent, he was asked if Wike’s rift with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was responsible for the attack, as he said he doesn’t know if the governor was responsible for it.

He said, “This PDP is one party, one umbrella but, since our governor did not get that position (presidential ticket) at that primary, there has been a division between Atiku’s camp and Wike’s camp.”

Further talking, he said, “They do not work together, even the governor made it open. He called a meeting where he said he would support all the PDP candidates but for the presidential election, he had not made it open. He gave the instruction that nobody should campaign for Atiku in Rivers State.”
