The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has cleared the air on rumors surrounding his visits to the five aggrieved governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Recall that the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar had a fallout with Nyesom Wike of River State and some of the PDP governors such as Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom and Governor Ifeanyi of Enugu State were absent at most of the PDP events. Peter Obi on different occasions have also had meetings with each of these governors and these visits have sparked up several speculations.

While addressing journalists during his visit to the governor of Benue State, Peter Obi said that his meetings with the governors are because of their intentions to make Nigeria better.

He said;

“I can tell you the only deal I have with them is that they’re passionate for a better Nigeria, that’s the only thing. Everybody wants Nigeria to survive now because at the end of the day if it collapses, anarchy consumes everybody you wouldn’t hear about parties. If they throw a bomb here you wouldn’t know who’s governor or who’s a gateman so it’s better we save Nigeria because if it happens nobody knows who’ll be affected.”
