Social media users have taken to their official X account to react after it was announced that the President of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Afam Osigwe has moved the location of the 2025 Annual General Conference of the NBA from Rivers State to Enugu state.
Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong made the announcement on his official X account. According to report, NBA stated that the decision to change the location of the event was made as a result of the emergency rule in Rivers state.
According to the statement;
“We convened meetings with the Chairman of NBA branches in Rivers State and held an emergency session of the National Executive Council. The overwhelming consensus was that NBA could not, in good conscience, proceed with the AGC in a state governed unconstitutionally by a Sole Administrator”.
Reacting, Inibehe Effiong welcomed the decision of NBA to change the location of the event from Rivers state to Enugu.
According to Inibehe Effiong on his official X account;
“This is the NBA that some of us can proudly identify with”.
