Arise television anchor and Nigerian journalist, Reuben Abati stated that politicians should rather focus on issues ahead of the 2023 general elections instead of things that don’t really matter to the people.

According to Reuben Abati, there are criteria enshrined in the constitution of Nigeria that one must have to contest an election and so Tinubu shouldn’t have spoken of Funke Akindele in that manner.

Reuben Abati also stressed that nobody should denigrate Funke Akindele’s chances ahead of the 2023 general elections because she has the right to contest in an election.

Reuben Abati’s statement came as reaction after the presidential candidate of the all progressives congress, Ahmed Bola Tinubu said that Funke Akindele’s name should never be mentioned where he is.

Reuben Abati stated this during review of trending stories between the 20th and 21st minute when he was reacting to Tinubu’s statement.
