Rivers State House of Assembly Issues Misconduct Notice to Governor Fubara and Deputy

The political tensions in Rivers State have escalated further as the State House of Assembly has formally accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy, Ngozi Odu, of gross misconduct.

This latest development adds to the ongoing political crisis in the oil-rich state.

The notice was issued by the Martin Amaewhule-led faction of the Assembly and delivered to both the Governor and his deputy.

According to reports, the lawmakers stated that their action aligns with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution.

“In compliance with Section 188 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), and other relevant laws, we, the undersigned members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, hereby submit a Notice of Gross Misconduct against the Deputy Governor of Rivers State in the execution of her official duties,” part of the notice reads.
