Seyi Tinubu Showed Disrespect in the North During Ramadan – Usman Yusuf

Professor Usman Yusuf, a former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), has expressed displeasure over the conduct of Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, during his recent visit to northern Nigeria in the Ramadan season.

Yusuf voiced his concerns during an exclusive interview with Daily Trust TV, where he criticized Seyi Tinubu for what he described as culturally insensitive behaviour. According to him, the president’s son disrespected the region’s traditions by sitting on the same chairs as respected emirs and Islamic scholars, dancing during the holy month, and distributing cooked rice to youths.

In his exact words: “The son of the president, Seyi Tinubu, had the audacity during Ramadan to come to the north and dance and visit our emirs and visit our Ulamas, sit on the same chair as them and dance during Ramadan and distribute cooked rice to our youths. It is insulting. They have no understanding of our people.”
