Nollywood actor, Stanley Ontop, has offered some clarity regarding the recent social media silence of his colleague, Alex Ekubo, addressing concerns that have been making the rounds online.
Naturenex reports that fans began to worry after noticing Ekubo’s last social media activity was on December 30, 2024. The actor’s extended absence sparked speculations, with some suggesting he might be battling a serious health condition.
However, Stanley Ontop dispelled these claims in a post shared via his Instagram page on Tuesday. According to him, the rumours about Ekubo’s health are unfounded, confirming that the actor is “very fine and he’s doing great.”
Explaining the reason behind Ekubo’s decision to step away from the public eye, Stanley said the actor needed a break from social media’s negativity.
He wrote, “If you all remember in February I posted his picture and was asking about him. @alexxekubo is very fine and he’s doing great.”
Stanley went on to reveal that the increasing toxicity online prompted Ekubo to distance himself in order to focus on his mental health.
“He just took time from social media and work. The media was too toxic on him so he decided to give you guys some space. Alex is good 100,” Stanley wrote.
He reassured fans that Ekubo is in good spirits and will make a strong comeback soon, stressing the importance of mental health awareness.
“Alex is coming back to this media strong and happy. Alex is not sick as being circulated by some mischievous elements. Alex we await your return. Depression is real,” he added.
