‘They Want To Reap Where They Did Not Sow’ — Wike Names Three Political Rivals In Rivers State

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has openly identified three political figures he claims to be battling in Rivers State.

This revelation comes in the wake of recent political tensions following the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and several members of the State House of Assembly after a state of emergency was declared in the oil-rich region.

During a conversation with BBC Pidgin on Saturday, Wike, who has been in a public dispute with his former political ally, Fubara, pointed fingers at Celestine Omehia, Abiye Sekibo, and Austin Okpara, accusing them of trying to benefit from efforts they didn’t contribute to.

In his words, “I am fighting those who want to reap where they did not sow. People like Celestine Omehia, Abiye Sekibo and Austin Okpara.”

He added, “I have defeated them before and I will give them the final defeat.”

Meanwhile, Wike also reaffirmed his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite working alongside President Bola Tinubu.

In the same interview, Wike insisted he has no intention of abandoning the PDP, stressing that he isn’t one to shy away from a fight or give up something he helped build.

“I can’t do that, I’m not afraid – how will I build a house and you now ask me to vacate the place.

“It’s you that will leave the house not me that built it. You want to spoil a house that I built, I won’t allow you. I won’t leave, I will remain there,” he declared.
