The Minister of State For Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has reacted to the verbal exchange between Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi and former Senator and spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign, Dino Melaye.
Recall that the LP flag bearer had gone off on Dino at the presidential town hall meeting in Abuja organized by the Centre for Democracy and Development and Arise Television.
In a video on Sunday, the LP presidential candidate was seen exchanging words with Melaye, who was on the entourage of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
During the event, Obi lost his cool after Melaye described his supporters as ‘noisemakers’ while interrupting the former Anambra State governor’s speech with snide remarks and gestures.
Obi said: “I won’t take this. That colonel is an NNPP person, and you’re saying it’s Obi People. Dino, please stop that!
“I have taken enough from you here. Why are you always calling me?”
Reacting to the outburst on Twitter, Keyamo shared a video of Dino questioning President Muhammadu Buhari and how he responded.
He went on to compare Buhari’s cool demeanor to Obi’s angry response while also adding that the highest office in the country is not meant for some kinds of people.
He wrote, “Take a look at both videos. One was PMB being heckled at NASS in 2018 by same character that heckled Peter Obi last Sunday. Watch PMB’s quiet and dignified response to them and P.O’s unstatesmanlike response. You will understand that some people are not fit for the highest office.”
