1. Atiku Is On His Way Out Of PDP – Okowa Reveals
Former Delta State Governor and 2023 vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa, has made a bold claim regarding former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s political future.
According to Okowa, “Atiku is on his way out of the PDP.”
Naturenex reports that Okowa, who recently completed his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this revelation during an interview on ARISE News on Tuesday. He expressed concern over dissatisfaction within the PDP as the country moves closer to the 2027 elections.
“I discussed the coalition with Atiku, who is on his way out of the PDP, before we moved to the APC,” Okowa stated. He further criticised Atiku’s proposed coalition, describing it as lacking direction and urgency.
2. PDP To Sue Oborevwori, Okowa, Others Over Defection
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has instructed its Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, to quickly file legal actions against the defection of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, former Vice-Presidential candidate Ifeanyi Okowa, and other party members in Delta State to the ruling APC.
Naturenex reports that this legal step follows a dramatic realignment on April 23, 2025, when Oborevwori, Okowa, and several PDP leaders in Delta defected to the APC.
After the National Working Committee’s first meeting for the year, Acting National Chairman Amb Umar Damagum reaffirmed the party’s determination to challenge the move in court.
3. Failure To Register Business Within Six Weeks May Lead To Jail — CAC To Nigerians
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a stern notice to business operators in Nigeria, giving them a six-week window to register their businesses or face prosecution.
Announced via a public notice titled “PUBLIC NOTICE: CARRYING ON BUSINESS IN NIGERIA UNDER AN UNREGISTERED NAME OR ACRONYM,” the commission cautioned that failure to comply could result in jail or other penalties.
This warning is grounded in Section 863 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, which also outlaws operating under any unregistered business name or acronym.
4. ‘I Am Ashamed’ – Sule Lamido Accuses Tinubu Of Using Nigeria’s Resources To Cripple Opposition
Sule Lamido, a founding member of the PDP and former Jigawa State Governor, has openly criticised President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of manipulating state resources to weaken opposition parties.
Naturenex reports that Lamido, speaking to the BBC on Tuesday, said Tinubu’s interference poses a grave risk to Nigeria’s democratic values.
He lamented the spate of defections from the PDP to the APC, particularly singling out Ifeanyi Okowa, and insisted that no president should deploy state power to suppress political opponents.
5. I Regretted Becoming PDP’s Vice Presidential Candidate – Okowa
Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP’s 2023 vice-presidential candidate, has expressed regret over accepting the party’s nomination.

6. FG Declares May 1 As Public Holiday
The Federal Government has announced May 1, 2025, as a public holiday to mark Workers’ Day.
Naturenex reports that this was confirmed by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo through a statement signed by Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani. The minister saluted Nigerian workers for their contributions to national development and urged them to embrace innovation.

7. King Sunny Ade Clears The Air On Kidnapping Rumours
Juju music legend, King Sunny Ade, has debunked viral claims about his alleged disappearance.
Naturenex reports that the singer made a live appearance on Tuesday via a video shared by his wife, Bose Olubo-Adegeye, clarifying that he is fine and actively performing.
This came after his daughter, Damilola Adeniyi-Adegeye, raised alarms on Monday, accusing his stepbrother and manager Dayo of mistreating the icon. King Sunny Ade reassured fans that he had performed in Lekki over the weekend and was heading for another show.
8. Popular Businessman, E-Money Released From EFCC Custody
Prominent Lagos socialite and music executive, Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, has regained his freedom following his arrest by the EFCC.
Naturenex reports that E-Money was detained over alleged currency abuse and defacing of foreign notes. He was taken into custody on Monday night at his Omole residence in Lagos.

Rapper Odumodublvck has explained that his microphone was abruptly cut off during his 17th Headies acceptance speech because he was “talking about Jesus Christ.”
Sharing this via his X account, he implied that the incident wouldn’t have happened had he mentioned the Lagos State Governor. Despite the interruption, he said he held no grudges.

10. Arsenal Are One Leg Out Of Champions League After PSG Win At Emirates Stadium
Arsenal’s Champions League ambitions suffered a blow as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a crucial 1-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium in their semi-final first leg clash.
Ousmane Dembélé netted the decisive goal just four minutes in, and despite Arsenal dominating much of the game, they failed to score against Gianluigi Donnarumma.
With the advantage now PSG’s, Mikel Arteta’s side must win in Paris to stay in the competition. The return leg is set for May 7 at Parc des Princes.
