Top Terrorist Leader Abdullahi Ali Captured, 4 Commanders Killed in Operation

The Nigerian military has reported significant successes in combating terrorism and crime in early 2025.

They announced the killing of four key terrorist leaders and the capture of Abdullahi Ali, who was injured during operations.

The leaders eliminated were identified as Abba Allai, Abdullahi, Jagaban, and Dan Danger.

The military also arrested several gun runners and logistical supporters, creating instability within terrorist groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP, leading to infighting among their factions.

Operation Delta Safe was highlighted for disrupting oil theft operations valued at over N7. 4 billion. It resulted in the confiscation of more than 6 million liters of stolen crude oil and the dismantling of numerous illegal refinery sites and boats. Additionally, a large stock of weapons and vehicles used by criminals was seized.

In the Northeast, Operation Hadin Kai conducted successful operations against ISWAP and JAS terrorists, leading to the elimination and capture of several militants along with a number of weapons.

Similarly, in the Northwest, Operation Fasan Yamma tackled terrorists and kidnappers, rescuing 16 victims and recovering vehicles and firearms.

In North-Central Nigeria, Operation Safe Haven focused on counter-kidnapping, rescuing seven victims and retrieving ammunition and weapons.

Throughout the quarter, the military carried out various operations against terrorism, kidnapping, and crime, effectively weakening the operational capabilities of terrorist groups.

The air force also contributed with reconnaissance and support missions. The military’s ongoing dedication to restoring peace in Nigeria was emphasized.
