Popular Nollywood actor, Uzor Arukwe, has spoken out about a rumour regarding his sexuality that once left him completely stunned.
Naturenex reports that the actor shared his experience during an appearance on the ‘Unfiltered and Extra Spicy’ podcast, where he revealed his initial reaction to the speculation. Uzor admitted that although he was deeply surprised by the claim, a part of him found it amusing because he believed such rumours often preceded a major career breakthrough.
Reflecting on the situation, Uzor dismissed the allegations, stating there would be no need to conceal his sexuality if it were true, as he would boldly embrace it.
Sharing his perspective, he said, “The worst rumour I have heard about myself was that I am gay. I was shocked to my bones, but I was somehow excited too because I heard that when people start saying those kinds of things, you will blow, so I thought to myself, ‘this must be it’.”
The actor went on to affirm his support for the LGBTQ+ community, declaring his affection for his friends within the circle while making it clear where he personally stands. “I have a lot of gay friends, and I love them. They are my people so I know their sexuality.”
He added further, “I love them to death and I have nothing against them whatsoever. But I’m not going to agree to what I’m not just because to some people they are a certain type of people. For me, let God judge.”
Concluding his remarks, Uzor noted that if the speculation were accurate, he would openly own it with confidence. “If it is my sexuality, I would own it. I’ll be one of the hottest around.”
