Bishop Feyi Daniels, a Lagos-based pastor who predicted that Bola Tinubu would be arrested during his swearing-in, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for r3ping his assistant.
The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja found the cleric guilty of r3pe and sexual assault of a female worshipper and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
The court also found him guilty of the offence of sexual assault of two members of his church and sentenced him to three years in prison.
The court ordered that the convict’s name be registered in the Lagos state sex offenders register and that he serve his jail term at the Nigeria correctional center, at the Kirikiri maximum facility where he is currently being detained.
The defendant was discharged of the second count of allegedly r3ping another church member at his home in 2020.
The court said the prosecution failed to prove the elements of the use of force, fear of harm by the complainant, and misrepresentation by the defendant to establish guilt in the offence of r3pe beyond all reasonable doubt.
