The Federal Ministry of Works has announced a total shutdown of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos for reconstruction works.
Engr (Mrs) Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, stated that the closure will commence from 12pm on Wednesday, February 28, and last until 12pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
This critical 24-hour period will see the bridge completely closed to traffic, urging all road users to utilize alternative routes during this time to minimize inconvenience.
The Federal Government is embarking on comprehensive rehabilitation works on the bridge, focusing on critical repairs to ensure its structural integrity.
Motorists are advised to cooperate with traffic management officials and follow diversions for smooth traffic flow during this period.
Additionally, the Lagos State Government has provided alternative routes for road users to navigate during the 24-hour closure.
