[VIDEO]: You People Talk As If Infrastructure In Lagos Happened When Asiwaju Was Governor’ – Rufai Tell Ayo

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos state and the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress is often being regarded as the man who built Lagos state. Tinubu’s campaign has been structured around the achievement and establishments he had made in Lagos during his eight years reign as the governor.

In an Arise Tv interview with one of the APC Chieftain Ayodele Adewale, Rufai Oseni was quick to dispute the notion that Asiwaju built Lagos state. According to Rufai, Lagos State has been highly structured and developed years ago even before Asiwaju came into the political arena. He also added that Lagos was once the capital city of the country.

He said, ”I’m always shocked and surprised with the way you people talk about Lagos. As if the infrastructure in Lagos happened when Asiwaju was governor. Have you forgotten that Lagos state was one of the British Crown colonies in West Africa? Have you forgotten that Lagos has existed since the 1850s and 1860s? Have you forgotten that when the amalgamation was done, it was first the Lagos colonies with the Southern Protectorate in 1906, and then the Northern Protectorate in 1914? So, Lagos has always been special, irrespective of anything anybody did over time.”
