We Can Not Help You, IPOB Tells Community Attacked By Fulani Herdsmen
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has told the people of Agu-Amede community in Eha Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State not to rely on the state security outfit, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) for protection from further attack by Fulani herdsmen.
Spokesperson of the group, Emma Powerful, while reacting to the recent alleged killing of natives of the community by armed herders, in a statement, yesterday, noted that they brought the calamity upon themselves. He said the community wouldn’t have been attacked if its leaders and youths did not chase ESN away from their area.
He said: “The traditional ruler, president general and youth leader of Ehamufu and its environs contributed, in heavy measures, to the Fulani massacre in their community.
“These people joined hands with the Nigerian government and chased ESN operatives out from their community, in their desperation to ensure that Fulani take over the community and ESN operatives were moved out and Fulani came in to massacre them.
“ESN will not come again; you allowed Fulani terrorists to come, ESN was established and sent a batch of the security outfit into their communities, but they were attacked and many of them and IPOB members were killed and detained by the community. Any community that pushes ESN operatives out from their place should not expect them back to their home, and they should wait for IPOB to ask them questions at the appropriate time.
“IPOB is making it open to ESN operatives not to move to these communities in Enugu State because we cannot afford to defend them while they don’t want us; Fulani must continue eliminating them because nobody is challenging them. Biafrans must ask the traditional ruler why they removed ESN from their place.
“We are aware that not less than 10 people were killed by herdsmen in Aguamede community, Ehamufu town of Isi Uzo Local Government Area of Enugwu State in particular. We mourn them, but ESN won’t come,” Powerful stated.
