What I Plan On Demanding In My Defamation Suit Against VDM – Falz
Popular Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, has said that he felt terrible when VeryDarkMan made allegations against him and his father, Femi Falana.
He stated that in his defamation suit against VDM, he would seek for damages because it is the only remedy available in a civil suit.
Falz said that he did not know much about VDM’s activism prior to when he released a video concerning his family’s alleged connection to crossdresser, Bobrisky.
The rapper stated this during an interview with media personality, Adesope.
He said, ‘’One day, this person thought it wise to turn on his ring light, sit down and via direct statements, insinuations and innuendos, allege that myself and my dad connived with a certain individual to manipulate justice and bribe the EFCC and adding that the reason I have done this is because I have a homosexual relationship with Bobrisky, going further to say that my posturing as an activist is false.
‘’Absolutely no proof. Why would you just come and allege all these things with absolutely nothing to support this statement.”
Falz said via his counsel, he has written to the person VDM claims made the statements about him and his dad in the said audio tape and that the said person admitted that no money was paid to him or his dad.
“So now you have to defend yourself because he who alleges must prove. I have gone to court for defamation of character because clearly that is what this is. The case of defamation is still very much in court’‘ Falz added.
The rapper said a High court had instructed VDM to take down the video where he made the allegations against him and his father, but he has refused to obey the court.
‘’In my defamation suit, I am going to ask for damages because that is the only remedy available in a civil suit. I would have you know that there is a criminal angle to defamation. I chose not to go that route. He could very well have been arrested. Now the narrative is that me and my family want to oppress this guy because we have legal muscle….Come on man! I do not look for trouble. I am always on my own. You set your ring light and began to say all these things about me and you expect me to sit down,’’ he added.
