“When Trouble Comes, Everyone Disappears” – Davido Opens Up on Challenges and Growth in His Career

Nigerian music sensation and Grammy-nominated artist, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has opened up about personal challenges he has faced in his career, revealing that many of his problems stemmed from his past relationships with women.

During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, a U.S.-based radio show, the 30BG frontman shared that tying the knot has helped him break free from a lifestyle of womanising. He explained that while marriage has brought him a sense of discipline and peace, some of his crew members feel that his new lifestyle has made their circle less exciting.

He recalled a recent moment when his friends expressed their discontent. “I walked in on my guys talking, and when I asked what the conversation was about, they said, ‘Boss, you’ve changed. Things are no longer fun. Where are the girls?’” he recounted.

Davido responded to them candidly: “I told them, ‘When I land in trouble, you all disappear and leave me to face the backlash alone. So, no more of that.’”

Reflecting on his journey, the singer admitted that relationships have played a significant role in the difficulties he has faced over the years. He added that his current focus is on maintaining peace and avoiding unnecessary drama.

“I’ve had my share of drama with women in this industry. But I’m done with that now. I’ve experienced wealth, fame—everything. At this point, nothing compares to having peace of mind,” he said.
