During an interview with Arise News, Nigerian journalist and presenter, Ayo Mairo-Ese, asked Reno Omokri why he always criticizes other presidential candidates, the likes of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, instead of focusing on Atiku Abubakar, his preferred candidate.
According to her question, “You talk a lot about the mob that comes after people if you criticize Mr. Peter Obi, yet going through your timeliness on social media, it is full of criticism of not just Mr. Pete Obi but of course the APC presidential candidate, so you have actually attacked the personalities of the people running for government as opposed to facing the issues as has been encouraged again and again, so you’re also guilty of what you’re accusing the mob that you talk about on social media, so why is it impossible for you to focus on your candidate?”
As regards this, Reno Omokri replied that the statement is false and that he has not used any unprintable name. He stated that if someone is a thief, it won’t be nice to say the person is a good person. He further stated that calling Tinubu a drug lord is not something he should be criticized for and that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has been telling lies to the people.
