Armed assailants wrought havoc in Katsina State, launching a series of attacks that resulted in a devastating loss of life and multiple abductions.

The most harrowing incident took place during Ishai prayer in Yargoje village, Kankara Local Government Area, where gunmen stormed a mosque, indiscriminately firing at worshippers.

The senseless violence claimed the lives of three individuals and left four others injured, with the assailants also abducting a man and two women from the village.

In a separate attack, the home of Sani Maikifi, a vigilante member in Ungwar Tudun Boka, Kankara, was targeted in the early hours of Thursday.

While Maikifi managed to evade the assailants, his family was not as fortunate, as his wife and son were taken.

Additionally, armed men invaded Dangani village in Musawa LGA, causing panic, chaos, and abducting an undisclosed number of residents.

The police are yet to release an official statement on the attacks, leaving the communities in a state of shock and fear as they grapple with the aftermath of the night of terror.
