Labour Community Is Not Peter Obi’s Personal Property – Reuben Abati

Nigerian politician and Journalist, Reuben Abati has reacted to the reports that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi is in trouble following Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s meeting with Labour Leaders yesterday, in Abuja.

During Tuesday’s Arise News “The Morning Show”, Reuben Abati said it is good to see the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu engaging with the Labour Leaders. He noted that Bola Ahmed Tinubu had done the same with the Business Leaders.

However, after commending the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for meeting with the Labour Leaders, Reuben Abati noticed one particular fallout of the meeting.

According to him, the report by some commentators that there is trouble for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi following the meeting is misleading, adding that those who are making such points have really missed the point.

Reuben Abati noted that in a democratic setting, every presidential candidate deserves an opportunity to engage with the stakeholders in his constituency, adding that the Labour community is not a personal property of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

Rufai Oseni who also spoke during the program commended Bola Tinubu’s meeting with Labour Leaders. He said he is happy that Tinubu spoke to Labour Leaders, but he should also talk about solutions to Nigeria problems.
