Ngige Comes From A Region In Nigeria That Also Wants The Presidency – APC Chieftain, Olusola Oke

Published by admin on

The Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige in a Channels Tv Interview refused to publicly endorse the Presidential Candidate of his party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Ngige told Seun Okinbaloye that he will cast his vote for the candidate of his choice at the polling unit. Of course, a large number of APC supporters have been disappointed with how Ngige refused to associate with the party’s Presidential candidate.

Chief Olusola Oke who’s an APC chieftain and a member of the legal directorate of Tinubu-Shettima campaign council has argued that they have nothing against Ngige as regards his refusal to endorse Bola Tinubu publicly. According to Chief Oke, there are things they needed to look at in the Ngige case and that’s the reality of the fact that he comes from a region that wants the Presidency as well and that’s the South East.

While speaking on why the APC cannot penalise Chris Ngige, he said, ”This is to tell you that we respect rights of dissents in democracy. Even with that, we are members of the same family. People must be allowed to express dissenting opinions. The onus of bringing everybody on board lies on the leadership which is what we are doing. Ngige comes from a region in Nigeria that also wants the Presidency. So, if it was out of an emotional outburst that he made that statement, the onus is on us as party members to understand. I’m sure that is being taken care of.”
