Ngige Recounts Etiaba’s Achievement In Anambra Under Peter Obi Administration As She Turns 80

Former Governor of Anambra State and current Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige has extended his felicitations to former Deputy Governor and one-time Acting Governor of Anambra State, Dame Virginia Ngozi Etiaba CON, on her 80th birthday anniversary.

According to Vanguard, Ngige extended this felicitation to Etiaba in a statement in Abuja. In the statement, he addressed Etiaba as an epitome of loyalty, fidelity and good conscience in Anambra state.

Ngige also described her as an accomplished educationist, seasoned administrator, and consummate public servant, who rendered selfless and meritorious service to Anambra State and the country in general.

Further more, he praised her candour, honesty, integrity, forthrightness and boldness, referring to her as a role model, especially for women in the Nigerian society.

He also noted that Dame Etiaba raised her children in a way that pleases the society, saying she instilled in her children and relatives, the good virtues of hard work, good work ethics, and fear of God. He praised the obvious results of her good works on her children, saying that the seeds she planted in her children have germinated.

While praising her efforts to raise her children in a better way, Ngige said that Etiaba’s children are shinning lights in their chosen careers, including Law, Accountancy among others.

He added that Etiaba impacted in the lives of many Nigerians as a teacher in many parts of the country before she retired from acting service at Okongwu Memorial Grammar School Nnewi, where she taught Agricultural Science among other subjects for several years.

Ngige added that after Dame Etiaba left the services of Anambra State Government in 1991, she founded her own school named after her late husband.

While recounting her achievements during her era as Deputy Governor under Peter Obi’s administration, and one time as the Acting Governor, after Peter Obi was impeached, he said that milestones were gained in both social and physical infrastructure.

Further more, he said in addition to the humanitarian services she rendered to the society, it was during Etiaba’s brief stint in office that the Child Rights Bill was signed into Law.

While talking about her impacts in Anambra State politics, Ngige noted that Etiaba have continued to epitomise loyalty, fidelity and good conscience. He added that the good people of Anambra State are indeed very delighted to have somebody of her moral standing around.

He said that as she joins the class of the octogenarians, they celebrate her in appreciation of all that she has done for Anambra State and Nigeria at large. On behalf of the good people of Anambra State, he said that they wish her good health and the most wonderful days ahead.
