The Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, has reacted to a purported report in which she said spread through WhatsApp of her bringing six multinational companies to Nigeria by December amid Tinubu’s policies and reforms. In the purported WhatsApp message, it was written that she’s bringing investors to Nigeria using the president’s commendable policies as a bait and even if his reforms might be harsh now, they would birth a new nation, as she has lost count of respected investors who have called her to congratulate her on Nigeria having focused leader since the forms were rolled out.
Reacting to all this, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala said the WhatsApp message was fake and wanted to make it clear that it was not from her, as she does not use WhatsApp broadcasts. Thus, anything forwarded is fake, and it is a bad example of the use of social media, as people doing it won’t succeed.
