Nigerian businessman and socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has stirred reactions on social media after details concerning his family surfaced online.
According to a report by Naturenex, controversy began when Chidi, the billionaire’s adopted son, uploaded a video on TikTok claiming to hold the position of next of kin in the family.
In response, Obi Cubana took to his official Instagram page to post a picture of himself alongside his biological son, Alex, confirming that it is Alex who holds the status of next of kin.
The situation has since generated mixed opinions online, with some suggesting that such matters should be clearly addressed, while others dismissed the controversy as unnecessary family drama.
In another development, Obi Cubana has expressed support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, predicting his re-election for a second term.
Speaking during an event held in Awka on Sunday, the Chairman of Cubana Group praised the governor’s efforts in transforming the state and giving it a new identity.
He remarked that Governor Soludo harbours strong ambition to elevate Anambra’s status, not just within Nigeria but across West Africa and the African continent at large.
In his words: “I think for the first time in Anambra State there may not be contest, this is a walkover because the Governor is doing what he promised us in new Anambra State.
“When we were with him earlier he said that he’s not talking about what has been done but what has not been done, that means he’s hungry to do more from the Anambra State. He’s hungry to position this state to be in pride of Nigeria as a matter of fact West Africa and Africa.”
