Former Senator Shehu Sani has condemned the call for the killing of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, by a Muslim cleric.
In a viral video, the cleric described Senator Tinubu as an infidel and an unbeliever who should be killed.
Senator Sani, in his reaction, noted that while criticising the government and its policies falls within the ambit of democratic rights, calling for the killing of the first lady is unacceptable and utterly condemnable.
In a post on his official Twitter handle, Senator Sani said, “Criticising the Government and its policies is within the ambit of democratic rights; but Calling for the killing of Senator Remi Tinubu by the religious cleric is unacceptable and utterly condemnable.”
