The Problem PST Oritsejafor Had Was Saying Saying ‘those Who Don’t ‘pay Tithes Will Suffer’ – Charles Awuzie

In the early hours of today, reports alleged that the former president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN); Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, divorced his wife whom he has married for over twenty years.

Reacting over the divorce rumor was a popular social commentator named Charles Awuzie who said, “I stand with Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor because he has never said people should not divorce if their marriage turns toxic. The only problem he had was teaching (saying) that those who don’t pay tithes will suffer in life.”

Charles Awuzie countered the old teachings of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor saying, “it is not true to say people who don’t pay tithes will suffer because in this life, everyone suffers and encounter problems. My own is to encourage people to give money out of love and not to escape what is common to humanity.”

Charles Awuzie further said he sees the divorce case of the prominent man of God as something that can happen to anyone because no one is above mistakes. In his words, “life happens to everyone whether you pay tithes or not. It happens whether you are big or small. When life happens, it is wise to show humanity. We should learn to be kind to people who are going through pain.”
