Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has suggested that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, may soon become a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on TVC’s Breakfast Show, Bwala addressed reports of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s departure from the APC to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
He stated, “We are not persuading Labour Party members to join us, but they are coming on their own. Valentine Ozigbo has joined, Balami has joined, and even Peter Obi will join us.”
Bwala also implied that political shifts, including discussions about forming a coalition against the APC for the 2027 elections and El-Rufai’s defection, are motivated more by personal interests than genuine efforts for national development.
