Senator Ned Nwoko has recounted what he was told by some Boko Haram insurgents who stopped his car in Adamawa State. The Senator narrated his experience while speaking on a podcast with Seun Okinbaloye on Saturday.
Recounting his experience, the Senator said when he visited his late friend in Adamawa, he saw a landscape which caught his attention and he decided to check it out. The Senator added that his friend, however, warned him not to go to the area because it was occupied by Boko Haram terrorists. The Senator said he insisted and went there with his driver.
“In less than 30 minutes of driving, we were stopped by a group of young men that identified themselves as Boko Haram. They asked what I was doing. I told them I am a tourist and I love the environment. They said this part is not Nigeria as they have taken over and if not that they know me, they would have taken me.”
“What they told me was that they don’t want to be part of Nigeria; that Nigeria is unfair to them and there are so many immoralities in the country and the government is not unaccountable.” –the Senator narrated.
The Senator added that he was allowed to return back after receiving a stern warning that the area was no longer part of the country.
